Improving Communications With RentACoder

The relationship between buyer and coder is often soured by poor communication. Surprisingly, this problem can surface on either side of the transaction. Any buyer knows the perils associated with hiring a coder with poor communication skills but the reverse is also true; the situation is equally difficult for a programmer when they have to deal with unresponsive customers. Because the RentACoder system is one of the most advanced of its kind, a number of measures have been implemented to ensure a regular passage of timely communication.

Communication is encouraged and required throughout the process, from bid request through to project completion and beyond. The bid request and bidding process is a communicative process in itself. The buyer posts in-depth project details while service providers bid according to these details. The most successful bids are typically those that include a good mix of personable communication with competitive rates. All parties are able to post and respond to messages on the bid request board throughout the process. Once a bidder is chosen, the project detail board becomes the main area for communication between the customer and the successful coder.

Email addresses of both parties can then be found within the project details. While this method of communication is not recommended except for small projects, it does allow a simple question or response to be sent quickly. Coders are required to post weekly reports for projects over $150. These weekly reports are filed through the RentACoder system and offer an effective way to keep information and communication flowing between all parties. Once work on a project is complete, the coder reports this via the site. Deliverables can also be emailed direct to the buyer to ensure that they get the completed project. Once the project comes to term, both parties are then encouraged to leave feedback for the other.

This is a vital part of the RentACoder experience because it provides an opportunity for the customer and the programmer to build their online reputation. RentACoder is an online marketplace designed to bring coders and buyers together in a positive environment. The continued communication from all parties is a vital part to this exchange and one that is openly pursued by the RentACoder system.
